14.270 has become a magnet of sorts for an on air saga, a very sad saga at that. It's the hang out for KZ8O, Mike an operator who seems to feel that he is the sole owner of this frequency. I have worked him once. He seemed like a nice op who likes to work DX. But, as I listened I began to hear things that were disturbing.Foul language, comments about operators sexual preferences and lewd remarks about wanting to have sexual relations with operators daughters and wives have been heard coming from this operator. I have to give Mike some credit he is not afraid to use his call but, that is where my respect ends. Even during Field Day the lewdness continued with KZ8O calling for FD contacts and then offering a report of 44DD an obvious reference to the bust size of a woman.
I was reluctant to post about this station as there has been some litigation initiated against those who oppose him but, fact is fact, he swears and makes nasty remarks about women on the band and pushes anyone off who is on 14.270. Last I checked the amateur frequencies are not for sale nor are they the possession of any one included would be KZ8O hence the pic of the dunce cap. Because, lets face it only a dunce would do this stuff.
If there is a bright spot here it is that I know the band is open when I hear him. And when he does operate properly he is very skilled, it is just a shame that he has resorted to being less than his best. The FCC is at fault here for not dealing with this correctly. It is clear he should be off the air until he cools his jets a bit. Oh well I guess this is the price one pays for being in a service that has no monetary value in the eyes of the regulator. It really should not be that way but, there it is money talks. Here is hoping this changes sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the very thoughtful and well worded comments about the antics on 14270 on FD. I also heard them and it was disgusting. To me hearing KZ8O is not a consolation as I know the band is painfully short when I do. Usually when I Google KZ8O and some of the other miscreants frequenting 14270, 14273 and 14275 I find blog entries that are every bit as foul as the people they are complaining about. Yours was very different and I thank you for it.

You have a lot of guts using your call and writing about this. The KZ8O, K3VR, et. all group will likely take revenge. There are not too many hams that have worked 20 meters that haven't run across this ilk. One day they will just fade away, either from illness or death. Unfortunately, that's probably going to be the only solution. However, there are others waiting in training for the replacement rights.
Well thank you for the note Anon. I appreciate that very much. I have to say that I have not been, touch wood bothered by this or other ops like him. then again I am not on the air as much and really stay out of the way of them.
I will give KZ8O due props as they say in the hip hop world he has nerve to do what he does and use his call. For that I have a measure of respect. It is what he and others do that I am not impressed with.
I also think it is important to remain neutral. I just write what I see or hear about. And, I have no desire to pick a fight. The reason so many get tangled up in the web of this stuff is because they opt in for a fight. Best way to deal with them, is not to deal with them at all.
